Change Office Address

Every company registered in India must maintain a registered office address to receive official communications from the MCA, income tax department, and other government authorities. If a company relocates its operations, it must formally notify the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) of the change of address. Under the Companies Act, 2013, the process varies depending on the destination: (1) change within the local limits of the same city (filed via Form INC-22), (2) change outside local limits but within the same ROC jurisdiction, (3) change from one ROC to another within the same state (requires RD approval), or (4) change from one state to another (requires Regional Director approval and advertisement in newspapers). The filing must occur within 30 days of the change to avoid statutory penalties.

Any registered Private Limited Company, One Person Company (OPC), or Public Limited Company in India that has relocated its primary registered address is eligible and required to file a change of registered office.
