Class 3 DSC

A Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is the most secure category of digital signature in India, certified under the Information Technology Act, 2000. It is issued by licensed Certifying Authorities (CAs) under the supervision of the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA). Class 3 DSCs use asymmetric cryptography (private and public keys) to ensure absolute data integrity, non-repudiation, and authentication. Because it requires the highest level of identity verification, Class 3 is legally mandated for high-value and sensitive electronic transactions—specifically government e-procurement portals, railway/defence tenders, municipal e-tendering, patent/trademark filings, MCA corporate registrations, and international trade filings.
